Is it permissible to seek divorce from a husband who curses God, is unfaithful, shirks responsibility, and prevents his wife from seeing her daughter?

If the husband curses Allah Almighty or abandons prayer, there is no good in remaining with him unless he repents sincerely. Cursing Allah is disbelief by consensus, and abandoning prayer is disbelief according to the more preponderant opinion. If the husband apostatizes and does not repent before the 'iddah (waiting period) expires, she becomes irrevocably separated from him and is not lawful to him except with a new marriage contract after his repentance. If he repents before the 'iddah expires, the marriage remains valid, but there is no good in remaining with someone in such a state. A wife's request for divorce without a valid excuse is unlawful, but in this case, it is permissible, rather obligatory, to seek separation if the husband insists on his apostasy. It is advised to try to counsel him; if he repents, then praise be to Allah, and if he insists, then Allah will compensate her with something better.
