Is mentioning family events and problems (such as those that occurred between parents or among siblings) to the husband, without elaboration, abuse, slander, or accusation, considered backbiting?

Backbiting is to mention one's brother with defects that he dislikes and that are present in him. If they are not in him, then it is slander (buhtan). It is forbidden by the Qur’an, Sunnah, and consensus (ijma’), and Allah Almighty likened the backbiter to one who eats the flesh of his dead brother. Mentioning events that occur in the family's life to the husband or others, without any insult, disparagement, or condemnation, but merely stating events that took place, is not considered backbiting as long as it does not contain any insult to any of those mentioned. Therefore, it is permissible. Nevertheless, one should minimize excessive talk and stories, even if they are not backbiting, due to the danger of the tongue.
