What is the legal ruling on considering December 25th and January 7th as official holidays marking Western and Eastern Christmas, and what is the ruling on whoever legislates this and obeys it while being able not to implement it, and what is the stance regarding scholars who remain silent on this matter?

Eids (holidays) are part of the Shari'ah and the methodology. It is not permissible for a Muslim to celebrate the holidays of non-Muslims, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, replaced the holidays of the pre-Islamic era for Muslims with the two days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Furthermore, scholars and Muslims in general must change this evil, each according to their ability, either by hand, by tongue, or by heart.
