The adopted on this website is that divorce does not occur if one did not intend divorce with these utterances, whether it was during anger, dispute, or contentment. This is based on Al-Kasani's statement: "There is no disagreement that divorce does not occur with any of the ambiguous (kinayah) divorce pronouncements, except with intention. If he intended divorce, it occurs between him and Allah the Almighty. And if he did not intend it, it does not occur between him and Allah the Almighty."
