Is it permissible to return to work at a previous company after having supplicated, "O Allah, take me out of it, for if I return, I shall be among the wrongdoers"? And are feelings of lethargy, a dislike of sitting with family, and the belief that everyone is against you, signs of the evil eye or envy?

It is permissible to return to the first job if it was lawful, and no expiation is required, for the statement mentioned is not an oath. One can return to work and look for a better one. To treat apathy and laziness, it is recommended to supplicate and seek help from Allah. Among the reported prophetic supplications are the supplication for worry and sorrow: "O Allah, I am Your servant...", and the supplication: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and sorrow...". As for the evil eye, it is prescribed to perform Ruqyah by reciting Al-Fatihah, Ayatul-Kursi, the concluding verses of Surat Al-Baqarah, the verse from Surat Al-Qalam (51), and Al-Ikhlas and Al-Mu'awwidhatayn, along with some prophetic supplications.
