Is it permissible to leave one's job and return to Egypt due to the employer's侮辱 of employees in general, and Egyptians in particular, knowing that Allah is the Provider, and that some colleagues advise patience and not taking the insult personally?
It is forbidden for an employer to insult employees, due to the Almighty’s saying: "O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them," and the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "It is enough evil for a man to despise his Muslim brother." The employer should be advised and reminded of the impermissibility of harming believers. If he does not desist, then the employee may leave the job if the benefit outweighs staying, or he may continue and endure the harm, and he will be rewarded for his patience. If the employee is within the contract period, he has the right to terminate the lease to ward off harm from himself.
