Did Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) forgive those who spoke ill of her?

There is no reported explicit statement from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) declaring her forgiveness for everyone who spoke about the slander (Al-Ifk). However, her knowledge, forbearance, religiosity, truthfulness, and her status as the Mother of the Believers indicate her forgiveness of the Companions among them, due to their standing. She treated those who wronged her with kindness. What confirms this is that she prevented people from cursing Hassan ibn Thabit and said about him: "He used to defend the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." She also made him sit on a cushion and said: "He used to respond on behalf of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and heal his chest from his enemies, and he has become blind. Indeed, I hope that he will not be punished in the Hereafter."
