The hands are raised in the Qunut supplication until they are parallel to the chest, with the palms facing the sky. This has been narrated from some of the Salaf, such as Ibn Mas'ud, Umar, and Ibn Abbas, and it is the view of Ishaq and the scholars of opinion.
