When are the hands raised in the Witr Qunut: Is it after finishing praising and lauding Allah and beginning to supplicate, or from the very beginning of praising and lauding Allah?

Raising the hands during the Qunut supplication in the Witr prayer is highly recommended. This practice is narrated from a group of Companions and is supported by the general meanings of various hadiths. Many scholars have adopted this view. The worshipper should raise their hands to their chest, with palms open and facing the sky, based on the hadith of Malik: "When you ask Allah, ask Him with the palms of your hands, and do not ask Him with the backs of your hands," and the hadith of Salman: "Indeed, Allah is too shy to return empty the hands of a servant who stretches them out to Him, asking for good therein." There should be a slight gap between the hands. This is affirmed by a consistent, although not literally identical, transmission of reports (tawātur maʿnawī). The madhhabs of Abu Hanifa and Al-Shafi'i recommend raising the hands in Qunut. The hands should be raised throughout the entire Qunut supplication, without differentiating between phrases of praise to Allah and phrases of asking for something.
