Is the remainder that the buyer forgave for the seller or for the grocery store?

The prevailing custom is that the remaining amount, which the buyer waives and gives to the seller, is for the seller as a tip or gratuity, not a bribe. Sheikh Ibn Baz issued a fatwa permitting a gift to a postman, explaining that it falls under the category of kindness and good deeds and encourages diligence in work. Accordingly, there is no harm in the buyer waiving some of his money and leaving it for the seller; rather, it is an act of kindness and good deeds.
