Is it permissible to consider money loaned to a friend as charity while keeping the bank interest to dispose of it?

The people of knowledge have stipulated that a creditor is not permitted to waive a debt owed to him by a debtor in exchange for Zakat, especially if the debtor is destitute. By analogy, your charitable giving of the debt to your friend who is unable to pay is not sufficient to rid yourself of usurious interests, because this debt is considered hidden or of diminished value.
