Is premeditated murder subject to blood money (Diyya)? And is the killer released thereafter?

Retribution for murder, by killing the murderer, is by consensus for intentional homicide. This is supported by verses and narrations, among them the Almighty's saying: (O you who have believed, prescribed for you is legal retribution for those murdered), and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: (Whoever has a killed person [from his kin] has the choice of two best options: either he kills [the murderer], or he accepts ransom). Scholars have unanimously agreed on the validity of the victim's guardians waiving retribution in favor of blood money (diyyah), in which case the offender is released and obliged to pay the diyyah.
