Are people equal in tribulation despite the differences in their abilities, the types of tribulation, and its severity, given an equality of faith, or is there a disparity, and how does God's test for the people of the earth take place?
Allah Almighty is Wise; He puts things in their proper places and is not to be questioned about what He does, due to the perfection of His wisdom and justice. Therefore, you must entrust your affairs to Him and occupy yourself with what concerns you. It suffices for you to believe that He is Wise and Just, that He does not wrong people, and that He tests whom He wills with what He wills, for a purpose. It is not necessary for people to be equal in their trials or their duration; that is due to His wisdom, exalted be He, which human minds are incapable of comprehending. The believer should concern himself with what benefits him. If he is in a state of blessing, he should be thankful; and if he is in tribulation, he should be patient, so as to succeed in the trial of good and evil, as Allah Almighty said: {And We test you with evil and with good as a trial; and to Us you will be returned.} Do not preoccupy yourself with questions whose answers do not concern you. Rather, entrust the matter to Allah, believing in His wisdom, and busy yourself with the duty of servitude.
