What is the ruling on marrying someone who works as a security supervisor in a hotel that serves alcohol, and does the guardian bear a sin if he agrees to this marriage under pressure from his sister?
It is forbidden to work in hotels that sell alcohol or where evil deeds are committed, because it is considered cooperation in sin and aggression, and an acceptance of evil. Therefore, the earnings from it are unlawful. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed ten individuals concerning alcohol, and Allah Almighty has made whoever sits in gatherings of evil without necessity as one who approves of it. This young man should be rejected and not approved, because his earnings are unlawful, and because his work involves corrupting religion and morals. The guardian must advise his sister and explain the unlawfulness of marrying this young man. If she insists, then it is not permissible for her to marry him without a legitimate guardian.
