What is the solution for an expatriate young man who works as a barber and massage therapist in a men's salon, and repeatedly rejects indecent proposals from customers out of fear of Allah, knowing that he has no other profession and is suffering from a constricted livelihood?

There is no objection to working in barbering or massage if the Sharia (definition) controls are observed, bearing in mind that laxity in these controls leads to tribulations. It is advisable to stay away from massage because it often causes problems, and to continue in barbering provided no Sharia prohibition is committed, such as shaving the beard, and to deal firmly with those who call for indecency by threatening them with recourse to the authorities.
