What advice can be given to Muslims in the West who are trying to reconcile Islam with contemporary issues, and who seek to prove that Islam keeps pace with changes by searching for specific texts to justify women holding leadership positions such as imamate and delivering sermons, with the aim of pleasing non-Muslims?

Islamic law has equated men and women in rulings, while differentiating between them in some matters due to differences in their nature. Therefore, absolute equality cannot be claimed. It is not permissible for a woman to lead men in prayer, by scholarly consensus; for she was forbidden from glorifying (Tasbeeh) and was legislated to clap instead, and the best rows for women are the first ones, due to their proximity to men. As for those who try to please the West by reinterpreting religious texts, the Jews and Christians will never be pleased with them until they follow their religion, and reality bears witness to this. It is obligatory for a Muslim to strive to please Allah the Almighty, and whoever seeks the pleasure of Allah through the displeasure of people, Allah will be pleased with him and will make people pleased with him. These concessions will not stop and will destroy the religion, for they have no positive outcome, such as the conversion of a disbeliever to Islam or a polytheist abandoning his polytheism. A Muslim must adhere to his religion and believe that nothing is suitable for the universe but Islam, and its ultimate goal is to please Allah, not to please the West.
