If obeying one's parents leads to a conflict where both cannot be obeyed, and it is not a matter of disobedience to God, then the mother's obedience takes precedence over the father's, according to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father." What further supports prioritizing the mother's request in this matter is that traveling to non-Muslim countries is not permissible except out of necessity.
