What is the difference between tawriya and lying?

Tawriya (ambiguous language) is to conceal the true meaning by stating a different apparent meaning, while intending the hidden meaning. A speaker resorts to it to avoid lying. As for lying, it is to convey information contrary to reality. Tawriya is not blameworthy in Islamic law unless it leads to falsehood, whereas lying is forbidden except out of necessity.
