What is the meaning of the phrase: "And Allah is beyond the intention, and He is the way to it"?

The phrase "والله من وراء القصد" (And Allah is behind the intention) means that Allah knows what people intend and harbor in their hearts. As for "وعلى الله قصد السبيل" (And upon Allah is the showing of the way), its meaning is that Allah is responsible for clarifying the path of truth for those who wish to follow it, and the path of falsehood for those who wish to avoid it, as in His Almighty saying: "And upon Allah is the showing of the way, and some [paths] are deviating. And if He had willed, He would have guided you all" and His saying: "And We guided him to the two high regions [of good and evil]." Writers may use these phrases as a skillful conclusion to alert the reader to sincerity or understanding.
