What is the meaning of Allah Almighty's saying: (And never would Allah lead a people astray after He had guided them until He makes clear to them what they should avoid. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of all things)?

Allah the Almighty states that He would not lead a people astray except after conveying the message to them and establishing the proof against them. Thus, guidance and misguidance occur after clarification. Mujahid explained that the noble verse, "And Allah would not lead a people astray after He has guided them until He makes clear to them what they should avoid," clarifies the ruling on seeking forgiveness for polytheists, and that misguidance does not occur until after the prohibition has been revealed and transgressed.
