Person 3 did what was required of him by returning the stolen item to its owner, not to the thief, because whoever steals from a thief is obligated to return the item to its owner. He must also repent to Allah Almighty for the theft he committed. As for the right of the first thief or the one who took from Person 2, it remains valid and can be claimed.
