Does showing kindness to people suffice over the remembrance of Allah, asceticism, and all other religious matters?

Fulfilling people's needs and showing kindness to them are among the greatest acts of righteousness because they constitute a benefit that extends to others. The religious texts have indicated this, among them is the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "And whoever is in the need of his brother, Allah will be in his need," and his saying: "The most beloved of people to Allah Almighty are those who are most beneficial to people." This indicates that striving to fulfill the needs of Muslims is better than secluding oneself for a month. However, kindness does not substitute for obligatory acts of worship; rather, one should combine acts of obedience and be keen on all good deeds.
