What is the ruling of Islam on snoring; is it forbidden or disliked, and does it invalidate the prayer for forty days?

If snoring is the sound that emanates from a sleeping person during inhalation, then there is no accountability for it because it is involuntary and unintentional. It neither invalidates the prayer nor contaminates the mouth; all such claims are fabrications. However, if others are bothered by a person's snoring, and it is possible to treat it with a permissible medicine, then taking it becomes obligatory to prevent harm. But if what is meant by "snoring" is the reprehensible sound that some transgressors make during disputes, then it is not permissible, based on the Prophet's (PBUH) saying: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them."
