What is the ruling on buying and consuming "Ribena" and "Lucozade" drinks for my children, given that my friend told me the former is passed through pig-derived filters and the latter contains 0.1% alcohol, and I found a previous fatwa from the British Shariah Council in 2004 stating their permissibility?

A Muslim is not permitted to add alcohol or pork to food or drink. The fundamental principle regarding food is that it is permissible unless the presence of something unlawful is certain. If a small amount of unlawful substance is added and consumed without leaving any discernible trace (color, taste, or smell), then its consumption is not prohibited. However, if the proportion is significant or impactful and its trace remains, then its consumption is forbidden. As for intoxicants, that which intoxicates in large quantities is unlawful even in small quantities. One must avoid doubtful matters, based on the hadith: "Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt," and "Whoever guards against doubtful matters has indeed acquitted himself in respect of his religion and his honor."
