The question

What was the first heavenly religion, and did anything precede Judaism, such as the Sabians? What are the Scrolls of Abraham, and are they a book for the Ḥanīfiyyah? Is the Torah the Scrolls of Moses? And what was the religion of the previous prophets if Judaism was the first religion?

The answer

The first religion revealed from heaven was the religion of Adam (peace be upon him), as he was a prophet to whom revelation was sent. He was the first of the prophets and messengers, whose number reached one hundred and twenty-four thousand prophets, among whom were three hundred and fifteen messengers. The religion of all prophets is one, which is monotheism and submission to Allah (Islam), with differences in the divine laws. It is not a condition for every prophet to have a book revealed to them, but they must receive revelation from heaven and be supported by clear proofs. Scholars have differed on the meaning of the revelation of books with messengers; some believe that it means some messengers came with this and some with that, while others believe that every messenger had a book, but we do not know all of them.
