What is the ruling on: 1. Participating in a competition on Instagram in exchange for advertising the competition owner's account? 2. Merchants gifting their products to famous Instagram accounts with the intention of advertising them by posting a picture of the gift and tagging the merchant's account?

It is permissible to advertise the page of the competition owner if it does not contain anything forbidden by Sharia, whether for free or for a fee, or for the purpose of participating in the competition, as long as the questioner does not pay money to participate. It is permissible for the questioner to advertise her goods on someone else's page, provided that the goods are permissible, and it is permissible for her to pay money for the advertisement as a gift or a donation.
