Is the inability to forget the past and the attempt to stay away and avoid working with a colleague who sought to take one's place contrary to the concept of tolerance that a person strives for?

Satan seeks to sow discord and contention among believers. He has despaired of being worshipped in the Arabian Peninsula, but he strives to incite strife among them. A Muslim should bear the mistakes of his brethren, forgive, overlook, and find excuses for them, for this is a great virtue that carries immense reward. Tolerance and forgetting past mistakes indicate noble character. If distancing helps to forget resentment and improve the relationship, then it is permissible, provided that the Muslim is not abandoned for more than three days.
