Could you please inform us, may God benefit you, about fasting in the month of Sha'ban?
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was keen to fast most of the days of Sha'ban, and he explained that it is a month people neglect, falling between Rajab and Ramadan. In it, deeds are raised to the Lord of the worlds, so he loved that his deeds be raised while he was fasting.
Fasting in Sha'ban has details: - If one has a habit of fasting, or has a vow, or a compensatory fast from the previous Ramadan, there is no harm in them fasting at any part of the month. - As for those who do not have a habit, a compensatory fast, or a vow, some scholars are of the opinion that they should not fast except from the beginning of the month until its middle only. They based this on the hadith: "When Sha'ban is halfway through, do not fast until Ramadan." The prohibition of fasting after the middle of Sha'ban and on the Day of Doubt aims to block the means to extremism in worship.
