What are the types of pictures that are not permissible to have in homes?

Pictures hung on walls, doors, or curtains are not permissible, whereas pictures found on bedding, beds, or pillows are permissible because they are treated with disrespect (mamtanah). It has been authentically reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered a curtain with images on it to be transformed into pillows, which are treated with disrespect. Furthermore, Jibril (Gabriel), peace be upon him, refrained from entering the Prophet’s house due to the presence of a statue, a curtain with images, and a dog. He commanded that the head of the statue be cut off, the curtain be made into two pillows (treated with disrespect), and the dog be removed.
