What is the wisdom behind mentioning the noble verse (And do not cause corruption on the earth after its reformation) in Surat Al-A'raf, between a supplication of humility and secrecy, and a supplication of fear and hope?

The prohibition of corruption in the Almighty's saying: (And do not cause corruption on the earth after its reformation) came between two verses commanding supplication, to combine encouragement and deterrence. After the human soul is encouraged through supplication, deterrence comes to curb it from sins, and this style is repeated in the Qur’an.

Sheikh Muhammad Al-Tahir Ibn Ashour mentioned that this prohibition came as an interjection between the two sentences commanding supplication, lest the soul indulge in its desires after the divine approximation, and so that its righteousness remains pure from corruption. This is also because the Qur’an follows encouragement with deterrence and vice versa, lest people fall into despair or complacency.
