Is it true that gold repels jinn and devils and protects from the evil eye and envy, and that the evil eye affects it rather than the one who wears it?

It is not true that gold prevents jinn, the evil eye, and envy. What prevents these is seeking refuge in Allah and relying upon Him, performing the prescribed ruqyahs, adhering to the remembrance of Allah, and fortifying oneself with the Mu'awwidhat (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas). Repelling the evil eye with gold or similar items is among the forbidden amulets.
