Is it permissible to pay a bribe to facilitate daily life matters?

Bribery is impermissible, whether giving it, accepting it, or acting as an intermediary for it, and it is considered one of the major sins. However, bribery used to attain a right or to ward off injustice and harm is permissible according to the majority of scholars, with the sin falling upon the recipient of the bribe, not the giver.
