What is the ruling on cheating by asking the teacher about exam questions, or asking him about the answer to a specific question on the exam, knowing that this is forbidden? And how can one atone for this act?

Cheating is forbidden religiously in exams and elsewhere, as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever cheats us is not of us." In a narration by Muslim: "Whoever cheats is not of me." Among the effects of cheating are nullifying the wisdom of the exam and wronging those who deserve it. Cheating is not justified by the teacher not having demanded certain questions if they are within the curriculum. It is not permissible for the teacher to answer students during the exam, nor for students to ask for that. Whoever cheats must repent sincerely to Allah.
