How can an elderly mother who is paralyzed, very forgetful, and has impurities removed from beneath her perform prayer? And is it obligatory for her children to pray on her behalf, knowing that she forgets Surat Al-Fatihah?

The questioner is advised to take good care of her mother. As for the mother's prayer, she should purify herself if she is able. Otherwise, her children should purify her, and she should pray according to her ability, whether standing, sitting, or on her side. Prayer is not waived for her as long as she is of sound mind. If she forgets Al-Fatiha, she should recite an equivalent amount from the Quran; otherwise, she should make remembrance (dhikr); otherwise, she should remain silent for its duration and then complete her prayer. One of her children or female family members can lead her in prayer.
