This iron is not without two possibilities: The first is that the authority responsible for it abandoned it, having no desire for it. In this case, it is permissible for you to benefit from it because it has become in the category of permissible things. The second is that they will return for it. In this case, it is not permissible for you to benefit from it as long as it has a known owner, except by referring to him and seeking his permission.
