The signs of puberty are: the growth of coarse hair on the pubic area, and the emission of semen. If one or both of these signs are present, then you are a legally responsible adult (mukallaf). Even if you are not yet an adult, an adolescent is commanded to perform the obligatory duties, abstain from forbidden acts, and adorn himself with Islamic manners so that he becomes accustomed to them. An adolescent whose soul yearns for matters related to women is considered an adult in this regard. The presence of just one sign of puberty is sufficient to consider a person to have reached puberty. It is advised to seek Allah's help, strive against oneself, avoid what incites lust and solitude, and bad company in order to repent from masturbation.
