What is the ruling on a mother discriminating between her children and favoring some over others? And is a son considered disobedient if he angers his mother because he gives money to his needy father or for any other reason? And what is the ruling on a mother inciting her children to disobey their father and preventing them from financially assisting him?

Allah has forbidden injustice and threatened those who commit it with punishment. Among the forms of injustice is favoring some children over others in gifts without a valid reason. Similarly, ordering children to disobey their father and deprive him of his right to their dutifulness and obedience is unjust. Therefore, it is not permissible for the mother to do that, nor is it permissible for the children to obey her in it; for there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. The children must know their father's right, just like their mother's right, and show him dutifulness, obedience, and kindness.
