What is the minimum monthly income that would enable a young man to cover the expenses of marriage without wronging his wife, and is it permissible to marry and live in the parents' home for a period not exceeding a year and a half until an independent home can be arranged?

Marriage requires careful consideration in choosing a wife and the ability to provide for her chastity, for a man is a guardian and responsible for his flock. Provisions are apportioned, and the husband is commanded to take the necessary means, for Allah provides for all. The minimum expenses for a wife are providing suitable housing, food, and clothing for a woman of her status. Marriage in the parents' house is permissible on condition that the wife agrees, adheres to the hijab (definition), and avoids seclusion with non-mahram (definition) men, with the preference of providing her with an independent entrance and facilities.
