The answer

It is disliked to bow one's head downwards while standing in prayer with the intention of looking at one's feet, because it is contrary to the Sunnah of looking at the place of prostration.

It is permissible to turn one's head out of necessity, not for any other reason, such as fear for oneself or one's property. The proof for this is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to turn his head right and left in his prayer without twisting his neck, and he used to turn towards the mountain pass when he sent a knight to guard him.
