Is a person considered an infidel for delaying action or inquiry regarding a device belonging to his friend that contains the Qur'an and songs, knowing that his friend did not authorize him to act, and that a jurist issued a fatwa permitting the leaving of the Qur'an on the device as long as it is in a separate section from the songs?

Along with this, occupy your time and energy with learning Fiqh, Hadith (definition), and Tafsir (definition), reading the Sirah and the history of the righteous predecessors, engaging in good deeds, benefiting people and guiding them to good, forbidding evil, and accompanying committed friends who help one to overcome the devil's control.
