What is the ruling on the prayer of someone who commits sodomy, and is his prayer not accepted for forty days?

The crime of sodomy is one of the greatest, ugliest, and most severely punished crimes. However, there is no religious evidence stating that the prayer of its perpetrator is not accepted for forty days. Therefore, it is not permissible to delve into unseen matters without a religious text from the Quran or Sunnah.
