What is the way to praise and give thanks for blessings, if the intention of the praise is for the continuation of the blessing and not out of gratitude?

Feeling gratitude to Allah Almighty for His worldly blessings is permissible, provided that the intention behind the action is for Allah, along with the hope for worldly reward, such as an increase in sustenance. However, this diminishes the reward. If, on the other hand, the sole purpose of the action is worldly reward, then there is no reward for it. Ibn Rajab clarified that mixing the intention of jihad, for example, with something other than showing off, like taking wages or spoils of war, reduces the reward but does not invalidate it. Whereas, for one whose sole intention is worldly gain, there is no reward. It is obligatory to consistently praise Allah, while disregarding worldly reward, or by making worship the primary goal and the reward secondary.
