How does a person hide himself from God through committing a sin?

Allah Almighty's knowledge encompasses everything. He knows the treachery of the eyes and what the chests conceal, and He knows the secret and what is even more hidden. It is all the same to Him whether one conceals a word or utters it aloud, whether one hides by night or walks freely by day, and He knows what they conceal and what they declare. Allah has reproached those who hide from people but are not ashamed before Him, the Glorified, because their fear of creation is greater than their fear of Allah, despite Allah's knowledge and encompassment of all their deeds.
