What is the ruling on using musical instruments like the organ and drums in a musical band, and what is the punishment for those who do so?

All musical instruments are forbidden. The prohibition of musical instruments (ma'azif) is mentioned in the noble prophetic hadith narrated by al-Bukhari from Abu Malik al-Ash'ari or Abu 'Amir, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There will be among my Ummah people who will consider unlawful sexual intercourse, silk, wine, and musical instruments (ma'azif) to be lawful."
