Masturbation is forbidden. If someone swears an oath to abandon it, they are obligated to fulfill their oath. If they do not return to it after the oath, no expiation is required of them. However, if they do return to it, repentance and expiation become obligatory. What the questioner mentioned about lying down is considered part of the forbidden act of masturbation, and if it occurred after the oath, then they have broken their oath and expiation is due. We pray for his forgiveness as long as he has repented and resolved not to return to it; for repentance is regret.
