What are the foundations for decision-making in life, whether difficult or easy, and is what a person decides something that God has predestined for him?

Decision-making can be summarized in four matters: seeking Allah's help and disavowing any power or might except through Him, performing Salatul-Istikharah (the prayer for guidance), exerting effort by contemplating and consulting experts, and being content with Allah's decree.
