What is the ruling on fasting during a week-long journey for a diabetic?

If a traveler intends to stay four days or more in a certain town, the ruling of travel ceases for him, and he is not permitted to avail himself of its concessions. So, if he intends to stay a week, he is not permitted to break his fast. However, if he does not intend the aforementioned stay, he may break his fast as long as the distance traveled reaches four burd. It is worth noting that fasting is better according to the majority of scholars, while breaking the fast is better according to the Hanbalis. If the person in question is ill and harmed by fasting, he is permitted to break his fast, even if he is not traveling.
