What is the Islamic ruling concerning a man living in Europe who married a Christian woman and had children with her to obtain residency, commits sins, engages in adultery, does not provide for his household, and abuses his wife and daughter, while his Muslim wife remains patient with him? And what is the advice or method to guide this man back to righteousness?

Praise be to Allah for guiding the sister to Islam, and we ask Him to keep her steadfast. What she mentioned is a tribulation for Islam, caused by those who claim to be Muslim yet violate its rulings. The calamity intensifies when a Muslim in the Western world is seen as a representation of their religion, yet lives like those around them, heedless of what is lawful or unlawful. Muslims are a fortress for Islam, and every Muslim is at a frontier point thereof, so let each one be careful that Islam is not undermined through them. It is saddening that new Muslim women are subjected to harm by Muslims who are supposed to be good examples. If the sister hopes for her husband's guidance, she should strive for it through his friends or relatives who can influence him, and she can seek help from admonitions that remind him of death and accountability.
