The mother is not permitted to take what the father has given to his daughter as a gift, except with her consent or if the mother is in need and it does not harm the daughter. The husband has the right to demand the return of what is registered in the marriage list or its official removal from it, but he must not mistreat his wife without a legitimate Shariah right, and he must treat her kindly.
