Is it desirable to pray the two rak'ahs of the Fajr supererogatory prayer (Raghibat al-Fajr) close to the iqamah of the Fajr congregational prayer, even if there is ample time between the call to prayer (adhan) of Fajr and the iqamah?

The time for the two Rak'ahs of Fajr extends from the verification of the true dawn's break until the iqamah (call to commence) of the prayer. It is recommended to perform them promptly after dawn breaks and to keep them light, as reported by An-Nawawi from 'Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her. This is the madhhab of Malik, Ash-Shafi'i, and the majority of scholars.
